Saga are a cruise and holiday provider to the over 50s, based in Kent. With insurance, legal and health services on offer as well, Saga have optimised their business to completely cater for their audience, resulting in becoming a trusted and prolific partner for a range of specialist services.
Saga’s cruise ships visit over 150 destinations around the world, providing an international experience for guests from the comfort of their incredible vessels. First class service has been a trademark quality for over 65 years - the friendly staff and the excellent facilities on board ensure a wonderful passenger experience every time.
Brief
A long-standing partnership exists between Nexus and Saga. Over the years we have seen the business grow and develop into what they are today and we’ve enjoyed being part of the process. This Case Study looks at when we were asked to develop their Deck Plan into a more attractive, more usable item.
Solution
Saga asked us to try to include the electronic card-key into the new design, so we spent some time developing a suitable print spec. After a few meetings to get the ideas honed, we reworked original the format, ditching the previous A4 for a larger document which would allow space for all the information to sit uncrowded. After numerous meetings and sample model making, we produced a neat, A3 sized document, that folds down into a handy pocket sized wallet.
Result
After producing a full size working model of the Deck Plan, development continued and eventually Saga signed off the project and production of 10,000 copies went full steam ahead. The design and print of this project was a huge success and our team’s innovative thinking was highly praised by the client. The stylish and functional end product was turned around quickly to meet the deadline ready for the next cruise.
We have been dealing with Nexus for over 20 years and have always had an excellent relationship with them. In particular we have been using a specific type of deck plan for many years which has served us well. Always pro-active, the team at Nexus came up with an alternative product which has additional features with the added benefit of offering us a cost saving.
