What is a marketing strategy?
Writing a marketing strategy is important! We explain the essentials you'll need to cover. ...
Alex Tabor is the brains behind this beautiful concept nursery setting. Her idea was to build a space for children to be nurtured and cared for, lead by their own learning through explorative play in nature.
The nursery is situated in Plummers Plain, Sussex, with purpose built facilities including messy play art rooms and natural outdoor play areas, all set in a spacious one acre plot. Alex’s vast experience in childcare and nursery work gave her the perfect footing to start this project, with the acclaimed Reggio Emilia philosophy underpinning their approach and ethos. The nursery is due to open Summer 2017.
Following a recommendation from Brighton Accommodation Agency, Alex got in touch with us because she needed help getting her new business up and running. She was still in full-time employment at the time so she made a visit to our studio after hours to get her ideas down on paper and start the ball rolling. Her inspiration for the branding was in the form of beautiful bunny rabbit illustrations which she found online. Her ideas were already well-formed, which enabled us to put together a creative project proposal covering the requirements for her company brand, her business stationery, some print adverts, a website holding page and the full website design and development.
Fiona set to work creating bespoke artwork for the brand. Both the website and logo design needed to be appealing to children and parents and be focused on the ideology of play in nature. Drawings of rabbits took shape, laying way to flowers, trees, bright colours and simple, informal font styles. Within a few short months the brand was complete and the holding page was live. From here we moved on to the creation of her marketing materials, a banner design and some initial concepts for the website.
The website needed to start generating interest as early as possible. The challenge for us was to make something that would be an effective marketing tool whilst the premises was still being built, continuing on once the nursery had opened. We worked closely with Alex to meet her goals within the allocated budget and time frame, with additional requirements coming to light as we progressed. These included such things as a nursery prospectus, an enrolment form, a flexible fees template and an application form for new recruits.
The website is working hard for Alex in the run-up to the opening which is planned for this summer. Subtle animations and colourful roll-over effects bring the website to life and Fiona has carefully considered the user requirements, placing important content in easy-to-find areas of the site. We tried to engage child interest where we could. The prospectus includes a colour-me-in page at the back featuring the Rabbit Patch bunny from from the logo.
The playful, child-oriented branding welcomes families into the ethos of the company and is a great foundation from which Alex can grow her business. The building work is pressing on and we look forward to keeping in touch with Alex as she enters her first year of trading.
