5 Design Secrets From The Nexus Studio
Fancy finding out what makes the Nexus creative team tick? Check out our new blog to find out...
The London Oratory is a long-standing client of ours. They describe themselves as a day school for boys aged 7–18 with girls admitted at sixth form stage, and are one of England's oldest and most distinguished Catholic state-funded schools. Their core values of scholarly attainment, spiritual awareness, personal growth and service underpin everything they do.
The school is steeped in history. The founding ‘Oratory Fathers’ opened their first school in King William Street, London, in 1852, but it wasn’t until 1970 that The London Oratory took its present shape in Fulham - whilst still remaining true to the ethos established over 100 years prior.
We have been designing and printing this prestigious book for many years. The Oratorian is a publication showcasing the work and achievements of the students throughout the year. The layout of the content and the page designs have strict requirements in-line with the Oratory’s high standard.
After taking high resolution scans of the sport teams and music group photos, the designer leading the project will remain in close contact with the client to ensure they are kept up to speed with the progress of the project. The pages are laid out, the type is set, with amendments and feedback provided by the client at key stages. Due to the strict print specification, we always press pass this job to ensure the quality is up to standard.
We have great working relationship with the London Oratory and have optimised the workflow over the years. Our close relationship with the client means we can anticipate their needs and reduce time spent on amendments, resulting in a smooth and stress-free project process. The Oratory remains a key piece for Nexus and we look forward to continuing its development going forward.
